Beijing Itinerary: A Clean 3 to 5 Day First-Timer Plan
A practical route through Beijing that protects ticket timing, transport reality, and energy levels.
핵심 정보
- Suggested stay
- 3 to 5 days
- Best for
- History, food, first-time visitors
- Watch for
- Ticket windows and attraction fatigue
Start with imperial Beijing
Use your first full day for Tiananmen, the Forbidden City, and Jingshan Park. Keep that day tightly grouped and buy tickets ahead.
Beijing distances look manageable on a map but can feel much larger once security lines and subway transfers enter the picture.
Give the Great Wall its own day
Do not bury the Great Wall inside an overstuffed city day. Mutianyu works well for first-timers because the logistics are straightforward and the setting feels dramatic.
Weather matters. If the forecast is poor, swap the Wall day with Summer Palace or Temple of Heaven.
Use the extra days for pace, not volume
On a five-day plan, add hutongs, 798, Lama Temple, or a slower food-and-neighborhood day instead of cramming another major monument.
A good Beijing itinerary feels deliberate, not maximalist.
여행자가 자주 묻는 질문
Is Beijing too hard for a first China city?
No. It is one of the best first cities because the flagship attractions, transport, and tourist infrastructure are comparatively legible.
How many days is enough for Beijing?
Three days covers the core. Four or five feels better if you want one Great Wall day plus a slower neighborhood or museum day.
